Having your piece chosen for a juried exhibition from a well known artist is great privilege and opportunity. For any artist contributing and looking to have their work recognized is an exciting stepping stone in their life. Opened for the public to view, York College Galleries presented the Philadelphia Sculptors juried exhibition, Mirror, Mirror: Artists Redefining Identity. This exhibition is a small collection that provides a little taste from the Philly sculpture community that includes a great mixture of different pieces. This exhibition is an eye opening environment that one must see for themselves. The selected 17 submissions create an inviting environment that is bold, compl ex, thought provoking and communicates to many issues on a level that is relatable to everyone can relate to. The location of the exhibition is at Marketview Arts of York, Pennsylvania on the 3rd floor Gallery Hall. This particular gallery is an addition to the York College Studios at Marketview Arts that holds First Friday exhibitions and events. Like Mirror, Mirror, exhibition programs are featured that include shows of contemporary artists that are nationally known, as well as faculty and students. What makes York College Galleries more enticing is all events are free and open to the public. This is inspiring as an encouragement for many young art students near York as well as those who love the arts to take the opportunity to explore the the visual arts.
